Lisburn artist launches solo exhibition

Lisburn City Library is currently hosting an exhibition by local artist Keith Wilson, which was launched last Thursday (November 6).

Born in 1971, Keith studied at Methodist College, the University of Ulster and at Edinburgh College of Art.

He is a member of the Royal Ulster Academy and a Fellow of the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in County Mayo.

The Lisburn artist has received international success exhibiting in the United States and Europe and is recognised as an award-winning artist with his work held in many public and private collections worldwide.

His paintings and drawings are held in many public and private collections worldwide and has twice been artist in residence at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin.

Keith has carefully selected pieces for this exhibition which have drawn inspiration from his other home in County Mayo and his time spent overseas.

“It’s wonderful to have been given the opportunity to exhibit my work in my hometown of Lisburn,” he said.

“I can remember being a regular visitor to the old library in town and so the title ‘Returning’ seemed to fit very well.”

Jane Moore, Senior Cultural Services Manager, Libraries NI said: “We are honoured to host Keith Wilson’s exhibition in Lisburn City Library. The library is an excellent venue to showcase the work of visual artists. I would encourage everyone to come along to the library to view Keith’s exhibition.”
