Lisburn Baptist launches ‘One Life’ programme

A TEAM from Lisburn Baptist is preparing for the ‘One Life’ programme which will start at the end of the month.

The seven-week series, which includes a ‘day outing’ for all participants, was designed by Rico Tice, the founder of Christianity Explored.

It has already proved hugely successful throughout the UK and Ireland, has been translated into 20 languages and is being used in over 50 countries worldwide.

This is undoubtedly because of its relevance to everyday life and the fact that those who attend don’t need to know anything about the Bible.

Participants will find a relaxed, informal atmosphere where, in a small group situation, they can ask any question they want, and will not feel intimated to sing, pray or read aloud.

Everyone is welcome, whether a committed atheist, a church-goer or not.

Each evening explores Christianity in an enjoyable and interesting way, using the 2,000 year old book of Mark and a modern real-life DVD presentation.

At its heart is the life story of one person, Jesus Christ, and what he means for life today.

The 15-member team of leaders and helpers preparing the programme course for Lisburn Baptist is headed up by the pastor, John Taylor, Alastair Magill, a church elder, Noel Spence and Victor Watson.

The hope of the Lisburn Baptist team is the same as that of the programme founders: Not only that many will take up the invitation for the programme, but that they will “continue exploring these things, and ultimately have the joy of meeting the same Jesus who has transformed our lives and the lives of countless others over the centuries.”

‘One life. What’s it all about?’ starts on Wednesday, January 30, at 7pm in the Lisburn Baptist church halls suite, Longstone Street; entrance and car park off Tonagh Avenue.
