Lisburn City Centre Management to return to Council

Lisburn City Centre Management, which has an office in Market Square, is to be returned to the umbrella of Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council.

For a number of years the work of the City Centre Management had been outsourced, but was also substantially funded by the council.

A spokesperson for the council said: “City Centre Management is part of the Council’s regeneration function which was out sourced to Lisburn Development Ltd and latterly LCCM Ltd. As the Council is acquiring significant additional regeneration powers under Local Government Reform it has been decided to bring the outsourced portion of the City Centre Management function into the Regeneration Section of the new Council.

“No decisions have been made regarding office location although the Council has indicated a desire to retain a City Centre presence .”
