“For 40 years the Credit Union has provided affordable financial services to people in Lisburn on a not-for-profit basis and been part of community life. Through our calendar of events we reach out to local people of all ages. Now with this partnership we are supporting people at a time when they most need the support that only a charity like Macmillan can give.”

Claire Brown from the charity said: “The link up with the Credit Union in Lisburn will directly benefit people living with cancer and their families.

“We guide people through the system, supporting them every step of the way. We fund nurses and other specialist health care professionals and build cancer care centres. But we give so much more than medical help. People need emotional support, so we listen, advise and share information though our cancer support specialists, website and trained professionals. This partnership will help us maintain and develop these services in Lisburn”. Claire continued,

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lisburn Credit Union for this support, it is greatly appreciated and will enable us to continue providing our vital services to those in the local community living with cancer.”
