Lisburn in Focus seeking cyclists

The LIF team are currently seeking new volunteers to support their diverse programme of work.

Lisburn in Focus is a project led by the Royal National Institute of Blind People Northern Ireland (RNIB NI).

It is funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Safe and Well Programme.

Claire Patience, Project Co-ordinator with Lisburn in Focus, said: “We really need some new volunteers to enable our blind and partially sighted Tandem cyclists to continue getting opportunities to get out on a bike.

“We are lucky enough to have a number of great volunteers who help us out as often as they can.

“But with illness and holidays and other commitments we always need a few more people who are willing to cycle on Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings.

She continued: “National Standards Training is available for all volunteers who would like to become more comfortable on a tandem – so there is no need to doubt your ability – all we need is a willingness to help out.”

There is also the option of pairing up with someone at different times during the week so if a Thursday night or Saturday morning does not suit you then you can still be a valuable volunteer.
