Lisburn man takes up senior position with planning consultancy

GAVIN Rolston, from Lisburn, has been appointed to a senior position with a leading planning consultancy, based in Belfast.

Gavin takes up his Associate position with Clyde Shanks planning consultancy. His responsibilities include providing planning advice to guide a wide range of clients through the complexities of the planning process. This involves the preparation and management of planning applications, co-ordination and managing teams of environmental professionals on major projects. Gavin is currently working on a number of wind farm applications and readjustments to housing schemes that were planned a number of years ago in different market conditions.

Gavin worked for DoE Planning for five years on a wide range of planning applications from single houses to major retail, industrial and housing schemes. He then worked for five years for a major Belfast-based planning consultancy, working on a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential projects. A significant proportion of Gavin’s experience has been on renewable energy projects, with particular expertise gained on wind farm planning applications.

Gavin graduated with a BSc Honours Degree in Geography from Queen’s University Belfast. His interests include sport, including watching Formula 1 racing, and Premiership Football, and walking in the Mournes, as well as going to the cinema and reading.
