Speaking about the work of the NSPCC, Councillor Tolerton encouraged the people of Lisburn to get together in support of this great cause, emphasising in particular the importance of pioneering local projects such as the ChildLine Schools Service.

Mrs Tolerton said: “The NSPCC is an extremely worthwhile charity, which plays a vital role in Northern Ireland, striving to make a difference for children and bring an end to child cruelty by standing up for children’s rights, listening to and helping them.”

She paid tribute to the volunteers who raise funds for the charity.

The NSPCC is seeking to establish a local fundraising group based in the Lisburn area. To find out more, contact Clare Galbraith, community fundraising manager, on 028 9035 1135 or alternatively email [email protected].
