Lisburn mother bids for SuperMum title

Lisburn mother Amanda Francey is fighting for the title for the Supervalu SuperMums competition.

Amanda, was nominated by sister Jolene for the strength she showed when her son, Noah who unfortunately died in April this year, was diagnosed with Dandy Walker Syndrome, a congenital brain malformation, before birth.

Noah, was never expected to survive the end of the pregnancy but he survived against all the odds for nine months but sadly died earlier this year.

Amanda, who is one of 36 mums will now go on to attend the celebration event at Stormont later this month.

The competition is also sponsored by Magnum, Kellogg’s and Robinsons.

The campaign, which is now in its second year, was launched on Mother’s Day and received over 300 heart-warming nominations.

The grand final will be hosted by TV personality Claire McCollum who will crown the overall SuperValu SuperMum 2015 and the winner will take home a family trip to Disneyland Paris, courtesy of Clubworld Travel, with each finalist receiving a pamper hamper.

“There were so many wonderful mums nominated, who take life’s day-to-day challenges in their stride and the people who nominated them were so proud to champion their efforts.

“I’d like to congratulate Amanda on being chosen as a SuperValu Lisburn’s SuperMum and wish her all the best for the grand final.”

TV personality and Mum of two, Claire McCollum, has returned for a second year to host the SuperValu SuperMums final.

“I am just delighted to be involved in the SuperMums campaign for a second year, the judging process was not an easy task as there were so many inspiring mums to consider,” she said.

“The final is such a heart-warming evening, recognising so many worthy womenas they gather with family and friends and I’m really looking forward to meeting them all.”

Meanwhile Dromore mum Helen Downey has also been announced as SuperValu Dromore’s finalist in the SuperMums campaign.

SuperValu Dromore’s winner, Helen was nominated by her daughter Aisling.

As a mum of seven, Aisling appreciates all that Helen does for her and her sisters including her overcoming some recent challenges she has faced.
