Lisburn pauses to remember the Somme

On Tuesday July 1 Lisburn paused to remember those who gave their lives at the Battle of the Somme in 1916.

The Deputy Mayor, as well as representatives from the Royal British Legion, Thiepval Barracks and military regiments, attended a ceremony at Lisburn war memorial.

Wreaths were laid in remembrance of the fallen and a minute’s silence was held as everyone remembered the sacrifice made.
