Lisburn police investigate suspected cat poisoning incidents

POLICE are appealing for information following two cases of suspected animal poisoning in Lisburn.

Two cats were found dead by a member of the public in Traherne Gardens last Saturday.

A vet has examined the animals and believes both were poisoned, however police are awaiting the results of toxicology reports to confirm, and to identify the possible poison.

Officers are keen to establish if the suspected poisoning was deliberate or accidental and are appealing for information.

Anyone who, for any reason, laid a poison or anyone who noticed animal food or unusual substances in the Traherne Gardens or surrounding area last weekend is asked to get in touch on 0845 600 8000.

One of the cats belonged to the man who found them, however the owner of the other has yet to be identified.

Anyone who believes they may be the owner of the second cat, described as a black male cat with white under its chin, is asked to get in touch with police.
