Lisburn woman reachesfinal of make-up awards

A LISBURN business woman has reached the final of the third annual Oonagh Boman Makeup School of Excellence Awards.

32-year-old Jane Allen from the Magheragall area graduated from Oonagh’s make-up school in 2010 and is one of six finalists in the awards, which are the longest established in Northern Ireland.

The final, which takes place in The Ivory Restaurant in Victoria Square on July 4, will be even more significant as celebrity make-up artist Eugenia Weston will be flying in especially from Los Angeles, to present the coveted trophy.

Jane, who runs her own successful salon from her purpose built studio, said: “I am very surprised and excited to get this far. These awards are a great opportunity for young makeup artists to help boast their careers. I can’t wait to meet Eugenia Weston and seei the brainchild behind the fantastic Senna cosmetics range, which I have taken on. I’m sure all my family and friends will be coming out to support me. My two young boys Tristan and Riley are very proud of me.”

Eugenia, whose celebrity client list includes Angelina Jolie, Bette Midler, Janet and LaToya Jackson and Jessica Simpson and who is the founder of the Senna cosmetics range, sponsor of the awards, said she is looking forward to her first visit to Ireland.

“It is a great honour to be chosen to present the Oonagh Boman School of Make-up Excellence Award to one exceptional student and to see the exciting looks all the artists will create working with the products that represent my life’s work and passion” Eugenia said.

Should Jane win the coveted title she will walk away with hundreds of pounds to include £150 worth of Senna Cosmetics, £150 worth of brushes from Oonagh Boman, a photoshoot with nationally acclaimed fashion photographer Jim Crone and a photoshoot with Northern Woman Magazine.
