Lisburn’s Heather through to UK talent show final

A LISBURN girl is set to represent Northern Ireland at the Festival 4 Stars final in Glasgow in November.

Eighteen year old Heather Vient impressed judges at The Theatre At The Mill in Newtownabbey recently in the solo singing fifteen and over category and will now take part in the UK final where she will be up against some of the hottest new talent around.

Founded six years ago in Scotland in an attempt to find the country’s hottest new talent, Festival 4 Stars now runs heats throughout Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are different sections reflecting various singing styles, musical theatre, dance and Star Group. The competition has categories for soloists, duos, small and large groups.

Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson is one of the organisation’s success stories and other contestants have recently appeared on TV’s Over The Rainbow.

Robin Elliott, Northern Ireland host said, “This is one of the UK’s most reputable talent competitions with many celebrity endorsers including Boyzone’s Shane Lynch, Britain’s Got Talent finalist Faryl Smith, Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett, Eastenders legend Steve McFadden and Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh.”

“We all know that talent shows are extremely popular and especially here in Northern Ireland. I have had the opportunity to judge so many of these shows recently and I know just how much amazing talent we have out there,” added Robin.
