Principal Mrs Fiona Kane revealed that there was a 96% pass rate at the all ability Lurgan school. “It’s a fantastic achievement,” she said.

“I am absolutely delighted at the excellent A level results achieved today. It’s wonderful to see so many smiling faces and tears of joy from students and proud parents - the hard work, study and effort all worth it now.

“The dedication, commitment and professionalism of our subject teachers and Form tutors and all our staff is to be commended and I thank them all.

“We are also blessed in Lismore with unstinting support from our parents. This special relationship between school and home has really helped our student to reach their potential.

“What the statistics hide though are the wonderful individual stories of achievement with students overcoming hurdles and barriers and in some cases lack of self-belief; but perseverance and hard work has really paid off and we are particularly proud of them.

“The statistics also hide the character and individual personalities of our students who have enriched our school and will go on to enrich their communities and workplace wherever life takes them - this is immeasurable and of this we are particularly proud.

“On behalf of all the staff of Lismore Comprehensive, I would like to wish all of our students the very best for their future wherever it may lead. You will always be a past pupil of Lismore and we are very proud of you,” said Mrs Kane.
