Lisnagelvin shops evacuated after fire

Lisnagelvin Shopping Centre has been evacuated following a fire earlier this morning (October 10, 2014).

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that an electrical fire had broken out in the roof between two shops.

A spokesperson said: “Fire Crews dealt with a small electrical fire in a suspended ceiling above adjoining shop premises in the shopping centre. The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure. The incident was dealt with at 12.35pm.”

Three appliances were in attendance at the incident at the busy shopping centre - two from Crescent Link and another from Northland Road.
