Lisneal's marathon effort

TWO relay teams from Lisneal College participated in Monday's Belfast Marathon with the aim of setting a new school record.

All the runners who took part raised funds for Children In Crossfire to support ongoing projects in Tanzania and Ethopia.

The runners also aimed to set personal best times and a spokesman for the school said the determination to achieve all these records was evident from start to finish.

Team 1 were: Stuart Donnell (6 miles), Julie Simpson (3.5 miles), James McCracken (7.1 miles), Stuart McCandless (5.3 miles) and michael Allen (4.3 miles). Team 2 were: Ben Porter (6 miles), Janice Kelly (3.5 miles), Lewis Nicholl (7.1 miles), Aaron smallwoods (5.3 miles) and Aaron Burton (4.3 miles).
