Lisnevenagh petrol station plan approved

A planning application for a new petrol filling station on the A26 Lisnevenagh Road between Ballymena and Antrim garnered approval at last week's Planning Committee meeting of Antrim and Newtownabbey Council.

The plan will see the existing petrol station at Tannaghmore demolished with a new shop being built in its place.

The application includes a new forecourt layout which will see revised vehicle access to the complex. A dedicated and separate circulation route will be provided for coaches and lorries.

A total of 32 carparking spaces will be available at the complex, with two for disabled parking. In addition there will be two HGV parking spaces.

Councillor David Hollis queried the number of disabled spaces, stating that he didn’t think two disabled parking spaces were enough.

A planning officer advised that after looking into the issue, two were enough.

The new plan also includes provision for a shower block, as well an ATM point, with air, water and vacuum facilities also available on site.
