BCCA has grown in strength since its formation in 2004 reaffirming its commitment to promoting a shared community, cross community activities and making their community welcome to all.

Support from the Housing Executive’s Shared Communities Project (SCP) helped the group deliver good relations projects in their area and go on to build better relationships within the neighbouring estates.

Michelle Copeland from Brookfield and Edenderry Community Association said the group was delighted to have been nominated and thrilled to be short-listed.

She commented: “Seeing the improved quality of life for residents in both estates as a result of our combined efforts has made the hard work and effort worthwhile. Receiving this shortlisted for the CIH-NI Awards 2015 is the icing on the cake.”

She went on to say, “We made the nomination because of the Association’s incredible contribution to promoting good relations between the two estates and the wider Banbridge area.

“As a community group they have really developed their capacity and confidence to deal with statutory agencies and helped residents of the two estates work together. I am delighted they were shortlisted and wish them well for the CIH-NI 2015 awards.”

Award winners will be announced during the CIH Housing Awards taking place at Belfast City Hall on February 27.
