Little boy knocked down and killed named as Ronan McGavigan

The little boy knocked down and killed in the Brandywell on Sunday, July 17, has been named as two year old Ronan McGavigan.

Ronan was tragically killed after being struck by a car on the Lone Moor Road.

The collision occurred at around 1.15pm and involved a silver coloured Citroen Picasso car. The driver of the car has been spoken to by police and enquiries are currently ongoing. The road remains closed at this time.

Inspector David McIlwaine has appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information which could assist police with their enquiries to contact Strand Road on 101.
