They are now celebrating their second green flag in 2015. The award is renewed every two years.

School Principal Marian McCouaig thanked the staff and children for their hard work.

“Well done to the Eco Team and all the children and staff in school who helped us achieve our second green flag! Thanks also to the parents, grandparents, carers and others who worked with us. We’re looking forward to much more eco-activities in the future.”

The Principal went on: “Our school is a committed community, currently working to develop our knowledge skills and attitudes in environmental education. The Eco-Schools programme provides an ideal way for fostering environmental awareness in the entire school in a way that links to many curriculum subjects.”

The children at Kylemore are currently fundraising to build a mud kitchen!
