LITTLE LEO IS REMEMBERED

LITTLE Leo Wells lost his short battle with meningitis six months ago and in this week's 'MAIL' his mother Lana recalls the day he "fell asleep for the last time".

Lana and her husband Karl are determined to raise as much money as possible to thank those who helped the family through the heartbreaking past few months.

Leo - the second youngest of Lana and Karl's four children - was rushed to hospital on March 23, but despite a brave fight the two-and-a-half-year-old was unable to recover from meningococcal septicaemia

So far the Donaghcloney family have raised 5,600 in his memory, which will be divided between the Meningitis Research Foundation, the Meningitis Trust and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Karl stated: "We always wanted to give something back to say thank you. It's only now that we've been able to start fundraising."
