Little Starz are shining

AFTER a six week summer scheme, youngsters at the Little Starz Academy show cased their talents to parents, friends and guests in St Peter’s Parish Hall.

Students performed songs from musicals such as ‘Wicked and ‘Annie’, along with numbers from the US TV hit show, ‘Glee’.

All have proven to be very popular with the students and amazed the captivated audience who attended the end of summer showcase.

Louise Fahey, Director at the Academy, said she was very proud of all students involved

“I’m delighted to have achieved such success in my new venture in opening up my first drama school here in Lurgan,” she said.

“I am so lucky to have such talented and committed young performers, who work so hard.

I am over the moon with how tonight went. It just proves if you put the work in, you will and can achieve success.”

The Academy have been invited to perform at the switching-on of the Christmas lights this November in the town centre.

“I am so proud and honoured,” said Miss Fahey.

“The Academy is in the early stages of success, so it is nice to know our professionalism and talents have been recognised with a chance to perform on such a grand scale. We are all very excited.”

After a successful summer school, Little Starz Academy will now be opening on a permanent basis for their autumn term, starting on Thursday, September 15, at St Peter’s Parish.

Sinn Fein Councillor Johnny McGibbon, who attended the event, said: “I was delighted to be invited to this excellent event.

“The talent displayed by the kids in the Little Starz academy at the end of summer performance is a credit to the hard work they have put in over the last six weeks.
