Little stray Nellie gets a new home

NUTTS CORNER: Nellie, a little stray dog that was found at Nutts Corner in Crumlin around Christmas, has been given a second chance of life.

The elderly female terrier was taken to kennels at Antrim Borough Council and found a new owner.

Judi Caldwell, Antrim Council’s Borough Warden explains, “Her heart-wrenching picture appeared on the Dogs Alone section of the council website and tugged at one lady’s heartstrings. After making the initial enquiries, she spoke with me so that I could assess her suitability as an owner.

“She took the little dog home and named her Nellie. Nellie has settled in very well and has taken up residence on her own special place on top of the sofa.”
