‘Livewires’ evening with Brian Houston

BRIAN Houston is surely one of the finest and most unique singers to emerge from the province in recent years and you can spend an evening with him at West Church on Friday, May 3.

Beginning with his brilliant debut, ‘Crush’ in 1996, he has gone on to record a number of gems including, ‘Thirteen Days in August, ‘35 Summers’ and the awesome ‘Sugar Queen’ which brought Brian to a national audience and led on to the superb track, ‘Childish Things’.

In addition to his mainstream material, he has masterminded a number of Christian-orientated albums such as ‘Gospel Road’, ‘Joy To The World’ and the fantastic ‘Shelter’, which was released last year.

You will certainly hear many of these gospel tracks on the night and the music will as always be accompanied by Brian’s trademark blend of life stories and humour.

The concert has been organised by Fuel Events in partnership with BEMF. It was originally the vision of the late Errol Hutchinson and as a tribute to Errol all proceeds will go to Livewires - a heart/ICD support group of which he was a patron.

Opening for Brian on the night will be Sylvia Burnside who is extremely well known for her work with the New Irish orchestra.

Tickets, priced just £10 are available from Faith Mission Bookshop Ballymena, or online from www.musicglue.com/fuelevents
