The 46-year-old’s body was found near Randalstown on Sunday after a three day search over a wide area.

Elizabeth, who went missing from Ballymena on Wednesday, January 22, was well known to hundreds of Ballymena people in her role as an employee at the local Tesco filling station. She had last been seen in the vicinity of Sainsbury’s store next to the River Braid.

Extensive searches were carried out right along the Braid from Thursday morning onwards when police were ably assisted by volunteers from the Community Rescue Service

Appeals carried on the Ballymena Times website were shared by many users, all of them hoping that ‘Lizzie’ would be found safely.

Those hopes were dashed early on Sunday afternoon with the discovery of a body near Randalstown.

Elizabeth, who was partner of Ivor, mother of Gareth, grandmother of Lucy and Alex, and daughter of Kathleen and the late Lyle Greer, will be laid to rest at Ballee Cemetery following her funeral service on Wednesday morning.
