Since the company moved to the Ferguson Drive site in 2011 it has grown its overall business by 33% across the Island of Ireland. The warehouse extension will include 4 new loading bays and a refrigeration unit, whilst the test bakery and kitchen will enhance the company’s ability to support customers with product development, test products and provide suppliers with the opportunity to showcase their new products. The 70th celebrations will also include a two day event at the Ferguson Drive site. This will be a networking opportunity for customers and suppliers featuring product demonstrations, sampling, seminars, and promotions – all with the aim to help with profitable ideas.

Tim Andrew, from Andrew Ingredients, said: “Throughout our 70th anniversary year we are frequently asked what we attribute to our success. My response is simple – from the moment the business opened in 1945 the ethos is the same to this day – quality and excellence through our people. The balance of these things has helped us achieved the success we are enjoying today. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been with us on our journey and hope that our legacy continues for another 70 years.”

Welcoming the achievement and the company’s expansion, Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Jonathan Bell said: “Andrew Ingredients is an ambitious, export focused business and its impressive new warehouse facilities and test bakery and kitchen will support this successful family-run firm’s future growth plans.

“I would encourage Andrew Ingredients to continue working with Invest NI to explore opportunities in new markets.”

Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Thomas Beckett, added: “On behalf of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council it is a privilege to be here to help a local company celebrate 70 years in operation. The exhibition on display here today is a very detailed timeline of the company’s investment over the years. I would like to congratulate Andrew Ingredients on their latest significant investment to provide new warehouse facilities and a new bakery and kitchen.

“It is fantastic for the local economy that a family run business has continued to grow and invest in the area through positive planning over a number of decades. Andrew Ingredients is a prime example of business development in the City and I wish them well as they use their new facilities and hope they enjoy their 70th Anniversary celebrations.”
