Local children ‘strike’ perfectbalance for C-SAW

CHILDREN from disability and special needs schools in Lisburn and Castlereagh enjoyed a fun day out at Dundonald International Ice Bowl last month when they took part in a festive bowling day as part of the Castlereagh Safe and Well Project (C-SAW) and Active Communities Programme. The event was a huge success with over 50 children enjoying lots of laughs and even a few strikes.

The Mayor of Castlereagh Jim White was delighted with the success of the event, “The C-SAW Project and Active Communities Programme are fantastic for the local community. The bowling event was a perfect opportunity for the local disability and special needs schools to come together and enjoy a fun and active day out.”

Steven McElhatton, C-SAW Project Manager added: “The turnout for the day was great and all the children really enjoyed themselves. The event allowed the children to engage with other schools in a fun activity while also taking part in physical activity which is one of the key aims of the C-SAW Project.”
