Local coach company congratulated on Olympic success

ULSTER Unionist Assembly Member for Mid-Ulster, Sandra Overend, has offered congratulations to local coach operators, J&K Coaches, for their recent successful trip to London to join the vast transport network, as part of the Coaches Charter Programme, helping make the London 2012 Olympic Games a resounding success.

Speaking on the successful representation, Sandra said,

“We all watched the London 2012 Olympic Games on television and marvelled at the feats of strength, endurance, speed and resilience that the athletes put on show for us.

“However, what we didn’t see was the work that went on behind the scenes to make these Games a undeniable success. One of the most important, and potentially troublesome, aspects of the organisation of the Games was the transport system in London.

“Although it wasn’t shown on our screens, it was commented on, and the overwhelming opinion of those who visited London for the Games was that the transport network was fantastic.

“One of our local coach operators, J&K Coaches, was present at the Games and helped to ferry around athletes and fans. Their contribution to the Games, although not very prominent in the headlines, was clearly vital, and by all accounts they performed to a gold standard.

“It is great, once again, to see our local firms providing their services across the UK, bringing much needed employment and income to our country.”
