Local craft fair gives hope to charity

THE Exodus Centre in Railway Street will be hosting a charity craft fair on Saturday March 3.

There will be a wide range of craftmakers and cupcake bakers exhibiting and all money raised will be going to the Hand of Hope Project, an orphan project run by local Youth For Christ workers, Simon and Hannah Marriott in the Czech Republic.

Exodus are sending a team of young people out to the Czech Republic in the summer to run an Orphan Camp in July 2012.

The Hand of Hope project desires to find a way to effectively prepare the children for life after 18 and to connect them with individuals who could facilitate and mentor their growth.

The vision of the project is threefold - to be present in the lives of these children, to be creative in finding ways to benefit the children’s lives and to be resourceful in providing the tools necessary for the children to feel like they are important by establishing a healthy self-image.

The Hand of Hope craft fair will run from 10am until 4pm and everyone will be made very welcome.
