Local food lovers are in for a treat at Restaurant Week 2015

Local food lovers are set for eight days of entertainment and special offers not to be missed.

Lisburn and Castlereagh Restaurant Week 2015 is just around the corner, with a jam-packed schedule of events and activities in store for all ages and tastes.

Promoted by Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, from Saturday 31st October to Saturday 7th November, more than 40 local bars and restaurants will be offering a wide range of deals and unique events, and below is a flavour of what’s in store.

Starting on the 31st, there are some spooky Halloween parties taking place at Del Toro and Thornbury’s restaurant, as well as special family fun days at Dobbies Garden Centre and Simply Fish & Chips Bistro.

The Specked Hen is also running a ghoulish set menu, accompanied by fancy dress, fire breathers and more, while for those looking to avoid the Halloween hustle and bustle there a Beer Tasting Evening in the Tap Room at Hilden Brewery and a night of cocktails and swing at The Grill at the Four Winds.

Then on Sunday 1st November, Del Toro are hosting their Family Extravaganza, featuring lots of activities throughout the day including a fancy dress competition and face painting, as well as special offers on traditional roast dinners.

Monday kicks off in style with a ‘Foods of the World’ supper evening hosted by Square Bistro and Oasis Travel, showcasing a range of dishes from across every continent.

Diners can enjoy a taste of some international delicacies and learn more about the countries they came from without ever leaving County Down.

On Tuesday 3rd November, it’s steak night at the Ballymac Hotel, with great special offers available, and it’s Tenner Tuesday at Makhulu 5, where you can enjoy two courses from the set menu for just £10.

Wednesday brings another great steak offer, this time at Bar Bistro at Down Royal Park Golf Course where it is just £25 per couple for their platter.

Also on Thursday 5th is the Banquet Bistro evening at Café Nosh, featuring live local music, while in Lisburn The Speckled Hen is hosting an Irish Theme night, with authentic Irish food and music running from 5.00pm.

On Friday 6th November, there are some fantastic special offers to help see in the weekend, including a free bottle of wine with every two main courses purchased at The Grill at the Four Winds, another steak platter offer at the Ballymac Hotel and seafood specials at Del Toro and Prima Gusto.

The Bar Bistro at Down Royal Park Gold Course is also hosting their famous pub quiz from 8pm, with entry costing just £2 per person, while over at Hilden Brewery they are celebrating all things gin with a bespoke tasting session.

Bringing all of the action to a close on Saturday 7th November is another great night of cocktails and swing at The Grill at The Four Winds.
