The Friends of St Patrick's, Aghacommon were keen to make sure no one was going hungry after their tea party on Saturday afternoon.

As the tea party ended the organisers found themselves with a surplus of food and issued an appeal through Facebook for voluteers to take it off their hands to feed the homeless in Belfast

In a Facebook post they said: “We at Friends of St Patrick’s have a surplus of food left over from Saturday afternoon’s tea party - mainly buns and cakes if anyone in Lurgan was going to Belfast to feed the homeless they can have it.”

The group can be contacted through their Facebook page Friends of St Patricks Aghacommon.
