Local men take top posts

TWO local men have been installed to the top posts of County Antrim Grand Royal Arch Purple Chapter at a meeting in Carnlea Orange Hall, Ballymena on Saturday 2nd March.

The Rt Wor Bro Kenneth Hull, District Master of Aghalee, was installed as County Grand Master; he replaces the Rt Wor Bro John Parker of Larne District who has stood down after five years as County Master, and sixteen as a County Officer.

The Wor Bro Rev David McCarthy, District Chaplain of Derriaghy, has been installed as the new Deputy County Grand Master.

The Grand Master of the Grand Royal Arch Purple Chapter of Ireland, the Most Wor Bro Norman Bell, himself a County Antrim man, conducted the Installation, assisted by the Senior Deputy Grand Master, the Rt Wor Bro John Clarke. The Grand Master paid tribute to the outgoing County Grand Master and wished the newly Installed Officers every success for the coming year. Commenting on his Installation, Bro Hull said he was deeply honoured to be elevated to such high office and hoped he would prove worthy of the honour. Bro McCarthy said it was an honour for both Aghalee and Derriaghy Districts as well as being a personal honour for both Kenny and himself.
