Local One Direction fans devastated after concert cancelled

The concert was cancelled at 9pm tonight after Liam Payne was taken ill.

The three other band members didn’t take to the stage.

One Lurgan dad who had taken his three young children said he was furious the group had left it to the last minute to cancel the concert.

“It is a long way to travel with three young children and they are devastated,” he told the MAIL.

“My three girls are crying their eyes out. They were so looking forward to the gig,” he said.

The band were due on stage at about 8.30pm at the SSE Arena on Tuesday, but singer Liam Payne fell ill.

In a statement, Aiken PR said: “The show tonight has been cancelled as Liam has taken ill, and whilst not serious, he is unable to perform tonight.”

Fans have been asked to hold on to their tickets and await information.

“A further statement will be made in the morning. The band apologise to the fans and wish Liam better,” the statement added.
