Local post office is first class

The team at Cullybackey Post Office in the EUROSPAR on Main Street were rewarded the Post Office Retailer of the Year title at the Retail Industry Awards, which were held in London last month.

The Post Office took the top honour in the Managed Store sector.

Manager, Melissa Lamont was praised by the judges of the awards who said that she “went that extra mile to improve customer service.” The Post Office was also commended for making a real bond with the community by sponsoring local events.

Melissa explained it is these little things that shows their commitment to their service in the community, she said: “We are situated within a supermarket that is at the heart of the community, and we’re providing a service that is a daily necessity and truly valued. Therefore, we value our shoppers and we will go the extra mile to ensure we’re delivering to their needs – whatever they may be!

“We were absolutely thrilled to win this award. The Retail Industry Awards are very well regarded throughout the retail industry and so we’re delighted to be in such great company alongside retailers and services from across the UK.”

Mark McCammond, Director of Henderson Retail which owns the Cullybackey EUROSPAR in Ballymena said; “We are incredibly proud and happy to have a team that provides such an essential service to the local community in Cullybackey. They clearly go above and beyond, and deserve the recognition they have gained from this prestigious win. Congratulations to the team!”

Other Henderson Retail winners on the night included SPAR Castle Street, Ballycastle which won the Forecourt Retailer of the Year (Company-Owned) category and Henderson Retail won Community Retailer of the Year.

SPAR UK also walked away with the esteemed Symbol Group of the Year award.
