Local primary chools receive Big Lottery Funding

Two local primary schools are celebrating after receiving more than £19,000 from the Big Lottery Fund's Awards for All scheme.

Seaview Primary School in Glenarm received £9517 to provide a sensory room, which will particularly benefit special needs pupils.

The money will also allow the school to buy new equipment for the children and the local pre-school to use during breaks and for after school activities.

Meanwhile, St John’s Parent Teacher Association in Carnlough was awarded £9661 to provide 27 iPads and accessories for use out of class time.

The group supports families, pupils and the wider community at St John’s Primary School in Carnlough.

Around 12,000 groups receive Big Lottery funding every year. Application forms and guidance are available to download at www.biglotteryfund.org.uk.
