Local pupils become Creative Writers!

A number of selected Year 11 pupils from Cross & Passion College and Ballycastle High School recently undertook a Creative Writing course in Ballycastle Library.

Libraries NI devised this Creative Writing Project for teenage boys and young men, which has been funded by the Community Fund for Northern Ireland and carried out at 6 selected libraries across Northern Ireland.

This 'Creative Writing' course facilitator was part-time teacher, professional photographer and published author, Gardiner Mitchell.

The students spent a total of 16 hours over an 8 week period, working on this project which resulted in the publication of two pieces of work (one from each school).

Both pieces will be presented for exhibition in Ballycastle Library during July/August and then in the schools in September.

The pupils are photographed at a special presentation of their finished work in Ballycastle Library along with:

Gardiner Mitchell, course facilitator, Librarian name, Cross & Passion College and Librarian name, Ballycastle High School.
