Local restaurant named in Michelin Guide

A NEWTOWNABBEY restaurant has been awarded a 'Bib Gourmand' by the prestigious Michelin Guide.

Oregano in Ballyrobert is one of only three Northern Ireland eateries named in the 2010 Bib Gourmand list, and the only new listing in the Province this year.

The Ballyrobert Road establishment joins top Belfast eatery Cayenne, and Restaurant 23 in Warrenpoint on this year’s list.

The ‘Bib Gourmand’ is awarded to restaurants “providing good food at moderate prices.”

The owners of Oregano, Dermot and Catherine Regan, said they were delighted that the restaurant has been recognised by the Michelin Guide.

“We are delighted to have received this award and thank all our customers for their continued support, and of course our team of staff, we couldn't have done it without them,” Dermot said.
