Local Scouts presented with top awards

LOCAL Scouts were among those who received some of the movement’s top honours at a presentation in Craigavon Civic Centre.

The Chief Commissioner, Mr Colin Lammey, congratulated all those achieving Queen’s Scout and Chief Scout’s Awards and emphasised that other major Scouting developments are continuing.

“I am particularly pleased that our numbers of young people are now rising and would take this opportunity to encourage adults to volunteer to assist us in our major task of developing tomorrow’s citizens.

“With additional support we can provide world class development to more young people” he said.

The Chief Scout’s Gold Award was presented to 1st Derriaghy Scouts Kyle Cross, Ian Hilland, Mark Lidasan, Jonathan McFadden and Alex O’Hare.

It also went to Jane Morrow of 6th Lisburn and 1st Carryduff Scouts Lorcan Bailie, Patrick Creber, Selina Eralp and Eoin Trainor.
