Local students excel at GCSE

Four Ballymena students were recognised for being among the province’s top GCSE students of 2013 recently at the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) annual ‘Celebrating Excellence Awards’.

Ballymena Academy pupil Carrie Coulter was a triple award winner having gained first place in the province at GCSE level in Chemistry, French and Mathematics.

Fellow Ballymena Academy pupil, Paul Gordon was recognised for his first place award in Construction.

Emma McGrath of Cambridge House Grammar won first place in GCSE Child Development and Dunclug College pupil Samuel Wilson won first place in Applied Business.

The Celebrating Excellence Awards are a key event in the CCEA diary every spring dedicated to shining a spotlight on the highest achievers in N.I. at GCSE in the previous year.
