Locals to run in Belfast Marathon

One Dervock man will be joining the 17,500 plus runners expected to hit the streets of North, South, East and West of the City.

A post on the Dervock Community Association’s Facebook site said: “I know I speak on behalf of Dervock when I wish young Paul Thompson all the best in the Belfast Marathon tomorrow. He was born and reared in our wee village which is known province wide for its sporting achievements and in the past has even turned out an Olympic gold medallist, could this young man be next?

Meanwhile four siblings from the local area, Fergal McCamphill, Niall McCamphill, Christine Grant and Claire McCamphill are also set to run the Belfast Marathon for a cause close to their hearts, Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
