Lockhart in call to have pool opening times reviewed
DUP Councillor Carla Lockhart has proposed a root and branch review of the opening times of the three leisure centres in Craigavon.
This comes as a result of a strong lobby that Waves Leisure Centre is opened fewer hours than its counterparts in Craigavon and Portadown and the times it is open are not always suitable to the needs of a changing society.
Councillor Lockhart, who has been successful in garnering unanimous support from all parties to review the opening hours of the centres, said: “I will be working with council officials to review the opening times and to come up with a plan to try and ensure it is responsive to the needs of rate payers.”
