Lodge set to mark Somme centenary
Members of a local Orange Lodge are set to mark the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme with a series of events.
Cairncastle LOL 692 will create a memorial flower bed using poppies and lilies at the orange hall. The flower bed will be in memory of the Lodge members who served for their country.
On Friday, July 1 a number of members will take part in the 100th Anniversary Somme commemoration in France. Members who are not travelling to France will take part in a parade through Cairncastle village and wreath laying ceremony at Cairncastle Orange Hall.
