Loftus backs traffic calming

SDLP councillor Roisin Loftus has backed a proposal by the Department of Regional Development to introduce calming measures on the Curraghmore Road, Glenullin near the Glenullin GAA ground.

She said: “The scheme is to manage vehicle speed and driver behaviour and would include the introduction of speed cushions.”

She added that as playing facilities were on both sides of the road there were road safety concerns.

“This seeks to protect, enhance and promote opportunities for greater enjoyment of our natural environment with the Curraghmore site being ideal for investment in the programme.”
