Lollipop man Andy calls it a day

AFTER a decade at the Moneymore Road, Crossing Patrol Man Andy McCulloch has stopped traffic for the final time.

Andy had been helping Magherafelt Primary School children cross the busy road every morning and evening since 2002.

A special assembly was arranged at the primary school for the popular lollipop man and his wife Muriel to express thanks to Andy for his years of service.

The Principal, Mr Buckley thanked Andy for his years of care and dedication to the children of Magherafelt Primary and wished him health and happiness in his retirement, Andy assured everyone that he was keeping well and that he was looking forward to many happy hours on the bowling green.
