London calling for High girls

The trip was based on the theme of ‘Faith and Martyrdom,’ issues which are being studied by the students. The trip party visited sights such as Westminster Abbey and St Paul’s Cathedral.

During a guided walking tour, students and staff were taken underground to the remains of a Roman amphitheatre dating back 2,000 years, where Christians would have endured persecution in the arena. At the Imperial War Museum students had the opportunity to visit a number of exhibitions such as the Holocaust Exhibition.

It was also a great privilege to be able to visit the Poppy Display at the Tower of London which again reminded each one of the great sacrifices made by so many people in defence of our political and religious liberties.

Of course, no visit to London would be complete without a little shopping! The famous Harrods and the quaint shops at Covent Garden were enjoyed by all. An additional highlight of the trip was a visit to the West End to watch a performance of ‘Wicked.’ A lot was certainly packed into the three day trip which was highly successful and thoroughly enjoyed by both students and staff alike.
