OneDLL is on 127 points in third place. Londonderry is on 124 points.

Londonderry skipper Sean McCarter said: “We will be giving everything in the final race of the series.

“We have performed consistently as a team throughout the series and every race the team has grown in confidence, skills and stature.”

Olly Cotterell, skipper of OneDLL, said: “My guys really deserve the final podium place and we are all aligned to achieve that still going into London. We have been on the podium a lot of the time since Albany and this is a frustrating situation to be in.

“Not getting a podium would be clutching defeat with the claws of victory.”

Henri Lloyd achieving its fifth win of the series and ninth podium overall into Den Helder, is now unbeatable in the series.

The team has 155.9 points, and second-placed GREAT Britain has 138 points meaning it is impossible for the team to overtake Henri Lloyd even if it wins the final race of the series into London and gets the full 12 points.

Race 16, Den Helder to London, starts on Thursday, July 10.
