Londonderry has worst MOT pass rate

LONDONDERRY’S MOT test centre had the worst pass rate in Northern Ireland (75.37 per cent) in 2010/11.

Carowners were also more likely to fail here in 2009/10 when the pass rate was even lower (75.27 per cent).

The highest pass rates last year were in Lisburn (81.82 per cent), Belfast (81.81 per cent) and Newtownards (79.61 per cent).

Environment Minister Alex Attwood outlined the figures in response to an Assembly Question.

The pass rate refers to the percentage of private cars that passed full tests in each of the years in question.
