Londonderry’s got talent at the Forum

The Millennium Forum will host an inter-school talent show this Thursday for charity. “A School’s Hidden Talent” will showcase a variety of entertainers from schools across the county, as far out as Claudy, Limavady and Coleraine. Acts from 8 schools will compete against one another, with funds going towards the Northern Ireland Children to Lapland and Days to Remember Trust.

The charity’s aim is to help terminally ill children visit Lapland every year. They are hoping to send over 200 children there this year, with around 50 of them receiving treatment locally in Altnagelvin Hospital. Local teenager, Ruairí C.R. McSorley will be compering the event and promises the show will be “a stack of craic”. Both the theatre audience and a panel will be judging the acts, which includes dancers, singers and other musicians,

The charity’s website appeals for local people to “help us to give as many of them as possible a day of joy” through it’s worthwhile cause. Tickets are currently on sale online on the Forum website, or at the box office at £10 for an adult, and £7 Under 18 (+50p development donation to the Forum). Family tickets will also be made available.
