Long sought white lines system welcomed
Lagan Valley MLA Brenda Hale has welcomed news of the recent provision of a double white line system on the Magherknock Road between Lough Road and the Creevytennant Road, Lisburn.
The DUP’s Mrs Hale said she had been lobbying Transport NI (formerly Roads Service) for the measures over the past two years, this having beencontacted by local residents.
“My Office Manager attended a meeting on site last year with concerned residents,” she said, “and we are all delighted that Transport NI have finally completed the refreshing and provision of additional road markings in the vicinity of this location, including a double white line system to prohibit overtaking.
“Road safety in this location has been a concern for some time and I am pleased our lobbying of Transport NI has seen results.”
