Looking back... Praise for local chemist

Mr James M Moore was praised on the television programme Nationwide.

The Downshire man had set up his shop on the Station Road 23 years previously.

He said: “Like everyone else, I have tried to be as helpful as I can to all my customers. It was extremely good of the person who put forward my name to think so highly of what we do in the shop.”

Mr Moore started his business in Larne, before moving to Whitehead and then Greenisland. He added: “I am really happy here and could almost say that I have grown up with it. When I first came, work had only just started on the first batch of houses in the estate. It was a fair sized community then, but it is larger now.”
