Looking good at Rushmere

KATIE Coyle (22) from Portadown has been crowned Miss Rushmere and will now represent Rushmere, Craigavon in the Miss Northern Ireland final in June.

Joining her at the final will be newly crowned Miss Craigavon Emma Aiken (18) who was placed runner up at the Miss Rushmere heat who will represent Craigavon on the night.

Thirty four girls from across Northern Ireland attended the Miss Rushmere heat which was hosted by well known broadcaster Alan Simpson.

Judges were so impressed by the standard of entries that ten finalists were chosen instead of seven. Katie, a chemistry student, was then selected as the overall winner and crowned Miss Rushmere while Personal Trainer, Emma Aiken from Belfast was chosen as Miss Craigavon.

Katie and Emma both received 50 vouchers from Lifestyle Sports and will go forward to the Miss Northern Ireland final at the Europa Hotel on June 21. The overall Miss Northern Ireland winner will receive a fabulous prize package including 1,000 worth of Shopping vouchers from Rushmere; swimwear from Debenhams, 500 shopping vouchers and 500 worth of Smashbox cosmetics from Debenhams, 1,000 Matalan shopping vouchers and designer Nico bags from Menarys at Rushmere for those placed first, second and third.

The Miss Northern Ireland competition is open to young ladies aged between 17 and 24 and offers the winner a chance to compete in the Miss World competition, as well as a vast array of other prizes.
